A McDonnell Douglas DC-10 with 128 on board, suffers an uncontained engine failure at 39,000 feet 65 miles southwest of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Debris from the engine punctures the fuselage and a passenger is blown out of the aircraft, but the aircraft is able to land safely with no other casualties.
